What changed for 2027.
The 2027 Equinox keeps the design introduced for 2025 and the 2026 model's 175-hp turbo engine. What changes is the transmission on front-drive models, the paint list and one new piece of technology.
Powertrain
An eight-speed for front-wheel drive. Front-wheel-drive models trade the CVT for the eight-speed automatic that all-wheel-drive models already used.
Color
Autumn Harvest Metallic. A new no-charge paint for the LT and ACTIV. Cacti Green leaves the color list.
Technology
An available Interior Camera. Part of the Safety and Technology Package, it lets owners glance at the cabin and record security clips of the interior.
Exterior. One body, three looks: LT, ACTIV and RS.
The Equinox measures 183.2 inches long on a 107.5-inch wheelbase. The LT rides on 17-inch machined aluminum wheels, and its Midnight Edition option darkens the bowtie emblems, grille, mirror caps and roof rails and adds 19-inch black wheels.
The ACTIV leans rugged, with all-terrain tires and its own suspension tuning. The RS takes the opposite route: black emblems, mirrors and badging, 19-inch wheels as standard and 20-inch wheels as an option.

Every 2027 Equinox uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 175 hp. Torque is 184 lb-ft with front-wheel drive and 203 lb-ft with all-wheel drive, and both drivetrains now use an eight-speed automatic.
EPA estimates are 27 mpg combined (26 city, 29 highway) with FWD and 26 mpg combined with AWD. A Drive Mode Selector is standard, and the ACTIV gets suspension tuning of its own.

The LT comes with cloth seats; its Convenience Package II adds Evotex upholstery, an 8-way power driver seat and dual-zone automatic climate control. The ACTIV pairs Evotex with Maple Sugar sueded microfiber, and the RS uses black Evotex with red accents. Rear passengers get 39.9 inches of legroom.
